Welcome to Med School Tutors! The terms and policies below have been carefully and firmly established
to ensure the optimal conditions for Med School Tutors LLC to provide the smoothest and most effective service possible. Please review the following carefully. We will gladly answer any questions.
1. Your tutoring package hours are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
By providing your billing information and agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are committing only to pay for the first session and not to any particular package of hours or long-term obligation. You realize that you will have the opportunity to sign up for a package (including a discount) after the initial session, which will provide the insights necessary for Med School Tutors LLC to make the proper package recommendation. Furthermore, you realize that all hours that are completed prior to the establishment of a package – or that exceed an established package – will be invoiced separately and are billable in full. Unused tutoring hours are not transferrable and non-refundable, and only the student identified above will have the right to make use of the extra hours for a period of one (1) calendar year from the package’s start date. Lastly, you acknowledge that all billing questions must be directed to your student coordinator in the main office, not your tutor.
2. Your trial session cannot be divided into more than one session.
The trial session discount of 50% off is only applicable to your first tutoring session with Med School Tutors LLC. This discount cannot be extended to a second session.
3. Sessions cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance will be billed in full.
Out of respect for your tutor’s time and the time spent preparing for a session, in the event 24 hours’ notice is not received, the scheduled appointment will be billed in full. Adequate notice shall consist of a timely phone call either to the instructor or to main office. In addition, if you (the student) are running late for a tutoring session, it is your responsibility to give your tutor notice by calling or texting your tutor. Tutors are not required to wait longer than 30 minutes from the scheduled session start time without communication from the student. Lateness and “no shows” are billable in full.
4. It is your responsibility to track the number of tutoring hours you have completed.
All time spent and/or scheduled with a Med School Tutors instructor is billable. Sometimes it will be
beneficial/necessary for sessions to last beyond the scheduled duration. When this occurs, you understand that all time that you schedule or spend with your tutor will be billable, and you will be responsible for paying for such time in full.
5. Weekly sessions are required, and sessions must last a minimum of 1.5 hours.
Meeting weekly not only ensures that your tutor can be available to you, it has also consistently been one of the strongest indicators of being on track for success. If you do not adhere to this weekly frequency, we will not be able to guarantee your tutor’s availability, and may need to re-pair you with another tutor (subject to availability). Lastly, we strongly advise sessions be 2 hours long whenever possible, especially for medical coursework, Step 1 or Level 1 sessions.
6. All invoices must be paid within three (3) business days of receipt.
If you have your credit card on file with us and are being billed hourly, we will automatically process your
payment within one business day of sending the monthly invoice. If payment has not been received within three (3) business days of the invoice date, Med School Tutors LLC will automatically bill your credit card account for that amount. Payments not received as of the start of the 4th business day after an invoice date will result in the imposition of a one-time late fee equal to five percent (5%) of the amount overdue. (Note: Med School Tutors LLC will attempt to charge the credit card on file before applying the one-time late fee.) In addition, you acknowledge and agree that failure to provide payment within three (3) business days of an invoice will result in the suspension of service by Med School Tutors LLC. Invoices that are not paid in full within 30 days following the invoice date shall bear interest at a rate of one and a half percent (1.5%) per month or the maximum permitted by law, beginning on the 31st day following the invoice date. If payment is not remitted within 30 days of the date of invoice, Med School Tutors LLC has the right to take further action to collect the outstanding debt, which may include sending the delinquent account to a third-party debt collection service. In the event we issue a refund, your card on file will be returned the agreed-upon amount less a $50 processing fee. You understand and acknowledge that you will be completely responsible for any fees that Med School Tutors LLC incurs to collect any outstanding debt, including but not limited to collection agency fees and attorneys’ fees to the extent permitted by law.
7. Med School Tutors guarantees that your score will improve after working with us.
The following standards are benchmarks that students working with Med School Tutors must meet in order to receive a refund under our score increase guarantee policy. These guidelines are in place for the benefit of both the student and the tutor. Students may not receive a partial refund, and they must meet all of these terms, pending review by our team, in order to qualify for a refund.
• Students must meet at least 90 minutes, once a week, for the duration of their study period (i.e. until they sit for their exam).
• The score increase will be measured from the first NBME a student takes while working with MST to their final USMLE score.
• The policy ensures that a student's score will increase; however, MST does not guarantee a specific point increase or a passing score.
• MST's explicit goal is to help students achieve their best results through careful planning and monitoring — as such, students must attend their tutoring sessions, follow the study schedule and their tutor's recommendations, and complete tasks assigned to them by their tutor.
8. Do not reproduce or share any MST tutoring materials.
You agree not to reproduce or show to any other person, in whole or in part, any of the test review or
counseling materials distributed by Med School Tutors LLC without the prior written consent of Med
School Tutors LLC. The foregoing prohibition includes without limitation the disclosure of any information, written or oral, obtained from Med School Tutors LLC instructors or personnel.
9. There is no magic pill for a higher score. You must do the necessary work.
Med School Tutors LLC makes no representations, warranties or guarantees, either express or implied, as
to any student's performance, success on any examination, admission to any medical or professional school or program, and any such representation, warranty and guarantee is hereby expressly disclaimed.
However, it is the explicit goal of Med School Tutors LLC to help students achieve their best possible results through careful planning and monitoring of progress. If you are unable to commit to the above terms, we reserve the right to cancel your tutoring at any time.
10. We take your confidentiality and your success seriously.
Med School Tutors LLC firmly believes in and maintains a strict confidentiality policy. Information
disclosed during your consult and tutoring will solely be used for internal assessment purposes. Med School Tutors LLC also believes our students’ successes should be celebrated, and we reserve the right to anonymously share your score or score increase on our website, blog, social media, and/or in other
promotional company materials.
