Jacob is an engaging, empathetic, and extremely skilled educator who is no stranger to working with students 1:1 to realize their full potential. A testament to his teaching prowess, Jacob himself has always been an exemplary scholar. As an undergraduate at Truman State, Jacob earned departmental honors in biology for his research and went on to graduate valedictorian of his class. All while managing to earn three varsity letters for the Men’s Track and Field Team. During his Ph.D., Jacob served as a tutor for a variety of preclinical courses at UMass and was a small group leader for the school’s in-house USMLE prep course. Jacob completed his thesis research on how the immune system fights malarial infection. He has yet to cure a single case of malaria, but he has also avoided infecting anyone with malaria. (First, do no harm.) When he is not pipetting or tutoring, Jacob enjoys running, reading, and eating at Chipotle.
